An experiment for isolating normal & malicious node behavior in VANET

In the new era of technology, Vehicular Ad-hoc Network (VANET) has been ascertained for its promising contribution mainly in traffic management and road safety purpose. Vehicular Ad hoc Network is a special kinds of MANET (Mobile Ad-Hoc-Network), where each of the vehicle refer itself as a node and exchanging data packets themselves. When vehicles don't share acknowledgement from valid authority, reduce network connectivity, share random and false information, suddenly change speed, are unregistered or expired, those behaviors treat them as a malicious vehicles. For the purpose of road safety such kinds of malicious vehicles have to be confined and blocked its participation in the network further. In this paper, we have experimented the behavioral difference between Normal node &Malicious node in AODV routing Protocol and compared their performance based on TCP and CBR connection with varying pause time and also varying some parameters and measured performance metrics such as packet delivery ratio, loss packet ratio and average end-to-end delay.
