Resource Allocation for D2D Underlay Communication Systems Using PSO

Device to device (D2D) is a promising technology for the next generation mobile communication technology, and attracts a lot of attentions. Since D2D technology allows devices to connect directly without the assistance of the base station (BS), D2D can effectively improve system throughput and decrease the energy consumption. In this paper, we propose a novel spectrum sharing scheme between D2D pair and cellular users to improve the system sum rate. In the proposed scheme, cellular users can share spectrum resources with different D2D pairs which can effectively improve the spectrum efficiency. Meanwhile, the transmit power of both the D2D pairs and BS should be careful optimized since the spectrum sharing scheme will also lead to co-channel interference. Then, both the resource block (RB) assignment and power allocation are considered at the same time, and we formulate the resource allocation problem as a mixed integer programming problem which is difficult to tackle. To solve the problem, in this paper, we adopt the Nr-PSO to solve the proposed problem. The Nr-PSO is a current evolutionary algorithm which can improve the local search ability.
