A cross-layer design for power flow control in smart grids

Modern grids frequently encounter unpredictable fluctuations in power supply because of renewable energy sources. Thus, a robust power flow control is needed. In this study, a layered structure of the smart grid is proposed in consideration of working level tracking and power flow cost. Three layers are considered: the top-layer management system, middle-layer information and communication technology, and bottom-layer physical system.
