A Tuning Method for Uncertain Processes of Thermal Power Plant Based on the Worst Soft Characteristic

This paper presents a tuning method for uncertain processes of thermal power plant (TPP) in the cascade configuration. The uncertain processes are identified by a model consisting of a basic component and an uncertain component. For tuning procedure, firstly, the controllers are synthesized for the basics, after that the “worst soft characteristics” of two open-loops are drawn. Secondly, the controllers will be retuned until both of the characteristics have not covered the critical point (-1, j0). The method gives an allowance of system “robustness index” choice.
