Characteristics of electromagnetic waves propagating through space between overlapped metal plates

This study discusses the characteristics of electromagnetic (EM) waves propagating through the space between overlapped metal (conductive) plates and contacting parts, which usually exists around a metal shielded box. The results confirmed that the space can be regarded as a rectangular wave guide through which the TE10 wave propagates.
