Stepped capacitance based miniaturized bandwidth enhanced ZOR antenna for WiMAX application

This article presents a stepped capacitance based miniaturized bandwidth enhanced ZOR antenna for WiMAX application. Proposed antenna consist of a stepped series capacitance along with coplanar waveguide (CPW) feeding technique. Since the proposed antenna is applied with short ended boundary condition so its series parameters are the key constituent for the origin of ZOR. =3.8GHz. The simulated and measured -10dB impedance bandwidth of designed antenna are 32.10% (fc = 3.80 GHz) and 28.27% f = 3.82 GHz) respectively. In addition to above this work offers an average peak gain of 2.43dBi along with the average radiation efficiency of 96.10% in the entire working band of antenna. It also provides dipolar and omnidirectional radiation pattern with cross polarization level better than -45dB in both E and H planes in the maximum direction of radiation. Simulation is carried out using ANSYS HFSS 14.0 3D simulation software and simulated results are verified with CST Micro Studio 11.0 and fabricated prototype.
