Correlation characterization of photoplethysmogram signals of pulsation: — Potential for application to reliable alcohol-intake detection-

This paper characterizes the important features of photoplethysmogram (PPG) signals to advance the development of mobile sensor units that can monitor vital data and/or to prevent drivers from drunk driving. This paper discusses the correlation of various PPG signal spectra with a time lag. We demonstrate how these analyses, based on Lissajous curves and chaotic analysis, are applicable to alcohol-intake detection. Possible mathematical base is also discussed.
