Metamaterial effect on UWB circular microstrip antenna

This paper is presenting the effect of SRR on the performance of UWB circular microstrip antenna, the design studies different SRR numbers and orientation. Dual 2×1, 2×2, 3×4 and 4×4 Square Split Ring Resonators are implemented at the back side of UWB Circular microstrip antenna to examine its effect on antenna parameters. Microstrip antenna dimensions are 45 mm × 31 mm × 1.27 mm. The maximum simulated bandwidth is between 2. 2 GHz and 10 GHz with notched band at certain frequencies. Simulated antenna parameters such as radiation patterns, Sii, VSWR, and maximum gain are acquired using HFSS.
