One solution for safe playback of multimedia content on Android-based systems

Android is an open-source software that became popular on mobile devices, but lately, can be found on other platforms like television and set-top box devices. With the development of internet television and a possibility for two-way communication between client and content provider, there is a lot of room for the development of modern methods for protection of audio and video streams. A couple of notable implementations for data protection systems are present on the market today. Unfortunately, the source code of these implementations is not available online, which makes it difficult to develop new systems for data protection. This paper presents one solution for safe playback of multimedia content on Android-based systems realized using the trusted execution environment.
