Research on the geometry optimization performance of ejectors with parabola fitting streamline structures

This paper investigates the performance of ejectors with a streamline structure. The parabola fitting is adopted to simulate the ejectors streamline structure and the effects of parabola fitting structure on ejectors are studied using the Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) technique. The contrast simulations of the parabola models and the original model are conducted in which the entrainment ratio and the critical back pressure are used as main indicators of performance assessment. The results show that the parabola fitting has different effects on individual ejector parts. A steadier performance is witnessed in the diffuser part than that in the ejector nozzle and suction parts if the parabola fitting is applied to these parts, respectively. However, it is totally different if the parabola fitting is applied to all these parts. The parabola fitting suction part plays a major role in the ejector performance if the back pressure is lower than the critical back pressure. Moreover, the parabola fitted diffuser part takes the lead in the ejector performance if the back pressure is higher than the critical back pressure.
