The arranged marriage

JUDGING by the title, your first impression may be that I mailed this article to the wrong address. When I was asked to give my perspective on Engineering Management, the first question I asked myself is what new dimensions can I possibly add as each discipline has so much exposure! Especially as someone having worked as both an engineer and a manager in large and small organizations, I have myself consumed (read tons of similar articles). If you can think of a "perfect marriage age" and time to take that "strategic decision" the older you get your stock may start going down. And like an alarm clock, whenever the clock strikes 7 am, you know it's about time to wake up and tie that 'knot'. That is precisely when an idea hit me. Can we visualize Engineering and Management as the bride and groom? And if so, would this be a successful formula or a recipe for disaster?
