Sickle cell disease verification via sobel edge algorithms for image processing

Sickle cell disease (SCD) is an abnormal red blood cell. Sickle-shaped red blood cells are not flexible and able to stick at vessel wall, causing a blockage of the blood flow. Most of the patients with SCD suffer from chronic ongoing pain as a result of organ damage in the spleen, lungs, liver, kidneys, joints, bones or skin. Image processing of Sobel Edge algorithm method was applied to detect the shape of blood samples after being diagnosed by physician and heamatologist. The Sobel Edge method verifies the human diagnostic and analysed their characteristics.
