Impact of distance-proximity in spreading process in mobile networks

In the process of epidemic spreading, the most important question is: how a healthy individual does catch a disease? To answer this question, researchers have developed plenty models depending on the assumption that said the contamination factor is a β coefficient, which is defined probabilistically, representing the infection rate. However, in the real life, the contagion process could depend on many factors like direct contact, indirect contact or proximity. In this paper, we use an epidemic model, SIS (Suspected, Infected, Suspected), that simulates in the framework of synthetic mobility models such as Random Waypoint (RWP), Gauss Markov (GM) and Truncated Levy Walk (TLW) and we show the impact of distance-proximity in the process of contamination.
