Analysis of single-fed and dual-fed distributed amplifiers based on analytical approach

Based on analytical approach, a comparison between the conventional (single-fed) and dual-fed distributed amplifiers are presented for the power gains and the power delivered by each transistor. General formulas are developed and used for this comparison, showing that these ones may be particularized for each configuration of distributed amplifier analyzed in this paper. The analytical approach is validated by computer simulation for the case when Composite Right-/Left-Handed (CRLH) based unit cells are used to realize the gate and drain artificial lines.
