Accurate and simple method to predict and monitor performance of coherent optical transceiver

BER versus OSNR curve at different receiver optical power (ROP) can be accurately predicted from simple BER versus ROP measurement. Furthermore, OSNR is estimated from pre-FEC BER at different ROP level.
