Controlling method for attractor merged chaotic resonance by external feedback

Stochastic resonance (SR) is known as a phenomenon in which signal responsiveness in a nonlinear system is enhanced by noise. By contrast, it is known that fluctuating activities in deterministic chaos also cause a phenomenon similar to SR, which is called chaotic resonance (CR). Most previous studies about chaotic resonance showed that these signal responses were controlled by internal parameters. However, considering the applications of CR, it is difficult to control the internal parameters from outside the system in many cases, such as biological systems. To overcome this difficulty, in this study, focusing on an OGY method as one of the chaos control methods, we examined the signal response in a cubic map and a chaotic neural network embedded with two symmetric patterns. The results confirmed that the efficiency of the signal response in CR can be controlled by the OGY method in both systems.
