Three- and one-dimensional modeling of microstrip lowpass filters

The results of three- and one-dimensional modeling of the lowpass filters based on traditional microstrip technology and three-dimensional microstrip inhomogeneities are compared. One-dimensional model is a heterogeneous transmission line with equivalent parameters. Filters based on high and low impedance sections of microstrip line and with capacitive stub are examined. The possibility to use one-dimensional model as a model of the first approximation is shown.
