Joint quality monitoring system for radio systems with MPEG based compression

MPEG compression method is widely used in various information systems. Due to the features of digital processing and transmission methods of video streams with method of redundancy reduction, the quality of operation for corresponding information system is highly critical to the reception conditions and the quality of the channel. While monitoring the quality of the operation of such systems, the tasks is to control the quality of compression as the quality of transmission of MPEG video streams. This leads to a complication of the system for monitoring the operational quality of the video information system. One of approaches that can provide reduction of the complexity is usage of a joint monitoring system, which is proposed in this work. Scientific novelty consists of proposition of the concept of an integrated monitoring system, as well as relevant scientific findings and proposals. As result of the computational experiments, efficiency of such a system at various levels of channel quality and approaches to its implementation estimated.
