Speed control of induction motor by 6-switched 3-level inverter

This paper presents speed control studies of induction motor by 6-switched 3-level inverter. In topology, the field oriented control technique used which is widely used in the literature, easy and stable for operating systems. The field weakening technique done for exceed speeds to nominal speed to reduce magnetic saturation and thermal losses. End of the process, it has been observed to increase of motor torque and inverter efficiency. Instead of using 12 switches in conventional 3-level inverters, 6 switches are used in this topology. The reduced number of switches is the greatest contribution of this work.
