This article presents the main revisions, updates, and additional materials that have been included in the IEEE 1566 adjustable-speed drive (ASD) standard first published in 2005. This revised standard includes suggestions and additions received from end users, manufacturers, and consultants that reflect both field experience and advances made over the past ten years.
