Automatic control system of rotary trencher

Automation of the rotary trencher and development of an automatic control system based on it may be a way to solve the issue of compliance with process requirements to trenching quality and to increase excavating performance. The trencher performance is determined with the motor load efficiency and controlled by both the machine speed and the level of rotor penetration while keeping the required trench depth. The bottom surface quality of the trench is provided by adjusting the machine rotor position. The control system includes two control circuits: speed control circuit of the machine and that controlling the predetermined trench depth. The system promptly responds to all local changes in the longitudinal slope of the terrain. Mathematical modeling of motor load efficiency control proved the correctness of the solution provided and control efficiency.
