Effect of volume fraction on entropy generation in Cu-Water nanofluid in cavity with chamfer in the presence of magnetic field

The irreversibility in a nanofluid flow (MHD) convection in a cavity with chamfer filled with Cu-water nanofluid was investigated numerically. The nanofluid was submitted to a thermal gradient and a magnetic field applied in different directions. The effective thermal conductivity and viscosity of nanofluid were calculated using the models of Patel et al and Brinkman. The equations of continuity, momentum balance and energy were solved using COMSOL software Multiphysics. The influence of the Hartmann number and nanoparticles volume fraction on the fluid flow, heat transfer and entropy generation was studied numerically. The effect of volume fraction on different effects of irreversibility is important.
