Efficiency analysis of inductively coupled power transfer with multi-pickups

This paper analyzes the relationship between the load and the efficiency of contactless transformer with multi-pickups which are in series or parallel connection. An optimal load resistance is obtained with parameters of contactless transformer at which the efficiency is the highest. Connection mode of multi-pickups affects the optimal load resistance, which is larger at series but smaller at parallel. A prototype was constructed in our lab, and the experimental results are presented to show the correctness of the theoretical analysis.
