Taking the lead and managing innovation

The literature on leadership is extensive and continues as a recurrent theme in most academic and business management journals. Some attempt to replace 'manager' with 'eader' while others fail to consider what it means to take a leadership position. At times leadership is transformed into the act of proposing the "big idea" and delegating, to others, the responsibility to execute.
