Temperature and male reproduction: the human testis as a multi-fractal organ

The fractal anatomy is founded on the basis that an organ is a mixture of different fractal structures (microvascular network, interstitial network, morpho-functional unit network), each one with a different value of fractal dimension. The multifractality description and definition of a classic anatomical organ is related to a multi-dimensional analytical classification of the defined anatomo-functional components. A three-level fractal scaling model of the human testis is described in which the microvascular network expresses the basic hierarchic role in the microcirculatory thermoregulation of the human spermatogenetic process.
