Virtual reality as an interface to tele-mobility

Personal augmentation devices (PADs) permit tele-mobility and promote development of abilities in children with severe disabilities. The system consists of a custom-built data acquisition box, interface software, a remote controlled car, and various multi-modal interfaces. Incorporating virtual reality (VR) goggles and haptic feedback devices with a personal robotic agent immerses the user in an interactive world.
