Approximate BER Analysis for MAC Systems

We derive simple approximate bit error rate (BER) expressions for half-duplex multiple-access wireless communications systems. The system model consists of K source nodes which transmit simultaneously to a multiple-antenna destination node. The system performance is assessed for different scenarios in terms of number of antennas and source nodes. Results reveal that the analytical BER curves fit very well with the simulations, which indicates that the approach presented in this letter is appropriate to be used for BER analysis.
