Diagnostic on nonlinear optical response of neodymium (III) oxide thin films

This work presents the nonlinear optical investigations of the neodymium (III) oxide thin films. Studied inorganic films were produced by physical vapor deposition (PVD) technique on glass substrate in high vacuum. The nonlinear optical properties were measured by using Nd:YAG laser at 1064 nm wavelength. Using the Maker fringe technique the third harmonic generation process was investigated. The values of third-order NLO susceptibilities were calculated and analyzed. The nonlinearity of these inorganic oxide compounds is indicative to use of optical devices.
