A context aware system for an IoT-based smart museum

The need for fast, reliable and sustainable means of communication is on the rise. Beacons are all set to revolutionize the industry with its immense potential and the ability to be deployed almost anywhere to offer an enhanced user experience. In this paper, we design and validate a context aware content delivery system using a Raspberry Pi which plays the role of a beacon. A local database has been set up to hold the required contents, this would be queried according to the ID of the beacon. We implement a non-traditional way of Content delivery System that delivers the cultural contents. A basic Android application was designed for the user side front-end. Evaluation shows that the raspberry pi was successfully configured as a beacon, which collected updated data from the back-end server and transmitted it as advertising packets.
