Optimization on production line layout of automobile body shop

In order to improve the manufacturing efficiency and reduce the logistics cost of the automobile shop, this paper adopts the method of system layout planning (SLP) to optimize the layout of automobile body shop. We firstly analyze the characteristics of the automobile body shop and then establish a multi-objective programming model minimizing the material handling costs and maximizing the degree of activity relation with the unfixed position of the main aisle, entrance and exit. We design an improved genetic algorithm based on the Pareto optimal concept to solve the mathematical model. An experiment shows that the model and the algorithm are efficient and effective.
