Label-free detection of Cordyceps sinensis by dual-gate nanoribbon-based Ion-sensitive field-effect transistor biosensor

We report a dual-gate nanoribbon-based Ion-sensitive field-effect transistor (NR-ISFET) biosensor system for detection of Cordyceps sinensis's DNA (CorDNA). Direct label-free detection of the CorDNA is achieved by conductance measurements of the NR-ISFET biosensors with both Au and SiO
₂
as sensing layers. Compared with previous methods for CorDNA detection, the NR-ISFET biosensor demonstrates smaller sample volume, lower detection concentration and shorter response time. Especially in dual-gate (DG) mode it exhibits a better sensitivity of 0.3090 mS/dec in a wide concentration range spanning four orders of magnitude, a lower limit of detection (LOD) of 100 pM, and significantly improved specificity as compared to single solution-gate (SG) mode.
