Monitoring and controlling of continue furnace line using PLC and SCADA

To fulfill the demand of automobile industries, an automatic control system is designed based on PLC and SCADA. This paper describes the enactment of continue furnace line in which hardening and strengthening of material are provided by heating treatment. For the heating process, the furnace is having mainly three zones in which each has the different temperature, this temperature is controlled by intelligent PID controllers. The output of heaters is controlled by the SCR. In the case of SCRs are failed then bypass option is also available which is provided by the contactors. Smart energy meters are used for display load of each zone and communicate with PLC and SCADA. SCADA is used for the purpose to see the view of the full machine, display alarms, trends, reporting of the furnace in SQL server. By using this technique, it can be analyzed in terms of monitoring, controlling the furnace, efficiency, avoiding waste energy, accuracy, fault history industrial production and performance of the whole system.
