High step-up DC-DC converter based on multi-cell diode-capacitor network and coupling inductor

In high voltage gain application scenarios, diode-capacitor network can be used to achieve a relatively high voltage gain and at the same time reduce the demand of magnetic component, which considerably improves the efficiency and power density. In this article, the topology of a high step-up DC-DC converter based on multi-cell diode-capacitor network and coupling inductor is proposed to attain a high voltage gain. The main circuit topology fully combines the characteristics of multi-winding coupling inductor and diode-capacitor voltage boost cell. The new topology has the following advantages: 1) increase voltage boost capability and avoid extreme large duty ratio, 2) reduce the voltage stress of switch, 3) achieve almost zero output voltage ripples which reducing the inductance in output LC filter, 4) reduce turns ratio of coupling inductor and magnetic component volume, 5) guarantee flexible and modularized design of basic voltage boost cell.
