Electroviscosity effect and structure of liquid dielectrics under high-voltage

Some data on the dependence of liquid dielectrics viscosity (acetone, nitrobenzene, chlorobenzene, etc.) upon the voltage applied are considered. The data was obtained for direct current voltage and alternating current voltage. The same measurements are characterized by the absence of the electric current through the liquid, as of the electrodes isolated from it. It is known that the change of mechanical properties of dielectric liquids in strong electric fields is caused by the formation of the excess volume charge. It is shown, that the curve of the viscosity dependence on the frequency applied voltage, has minimum, which are connected with the regime of injection of charge in the media. The change in the viscosity of the liquid media can be a consequence of alteration of the structure of the liquids and the formation of ion-molecule groups, differing from the previously existing ones. The dependence on frequency of the applied voltage allows us to theorize, that the structure-formation centers may be ions, i.e. that ion-molecule complexes appear. This assumption correlates with other data methods.
