Morphology and magnetic properties of aluminate glass microspheres with gehlenite matrix doped with Bi, Ni and Cr

The paper deals with the synthesis and characterization of undoped and doped (Bi, Ni and Cr) aluminate glass microspheres with gehlenite (2CaO.Al
₂
O
₃
.SiO
₂
) matrix. Polydisperse systems of glass microspheres were prepared by flame-spraying technique. All composition were partially crystalline, with gehlenite as main crystalline phases, except undoped composition, where hatrutite is the main crystalline phase. Magnetic measurements showed that gehlenite glass systems are relatively complicated magnetic systems. Magnetic behaviour of microspheres is a function of the temperature, magnetic field and the content of various dopants.
