Effect of magnetic field induction on crystallization of BiFeO3/LDPE nanocomposite

Nano-dielectric BiFeO
₃
/LDPE films of different percentages including 0.2 wt% and 2 wt%, have been successfully prepared by using solution-melt blending method in the spiral double pole rheometer. This paper studies on effect of magnetic field induction on crystallization properties of BiFeO
₃
/LDPE nano-dielectric. For the purpose of research on the effect of magnetization on the morphology and crystallization properties, the BiFeO
₃
/LDPE nanocomposite and LDPE were respectively magnetized at 130°C applied 2T vertical-magnetic field for 15 min. By DSC (differential scanning calorimetry) and XRD (X-ray diffraction) different measurement methods respectively, the crystallinity of LDPE and BiFeO
₃
/LDPE nanocomposite that were magnetized at high temperature were characterized. The crystallinity percentage of LDPE was increased after high temperature magnetized and increased due to addition of BiFeO
₃
nanoparticles of 0.2 wt% and 2 wt%. The crystallinity of BiFeO
₃
/LDPE nanocomposite was reduced with increasing BiFeO
₃
nanoparticles. The crystallinity percentage of magnetization BiFeO
₃
/LDPE nanocomposite was lower than unmagnetization samples. The XRD results are in good agreement with DSC results, but the datas of crystallinity percentage are totally different, derived from the uncertainty of boundary between crystalline region and amorphous region. The result is that Magnetization affected on the interaction forces between the macromolecule and the conformation of macromolecule.
