Preliminary Study of the Communications System for a National Bank of Patients Doses

This work shows the first results of a preliminary study of a communication system for a `National Bank of Patient Doses', in the Spanish National Health System. The communication system is based on the Metro-Ethernet networks available in most of the medical assistance centers. The work proposes the design of the frame with the necessary information to transmit after each radiological exposition. From this frame, the first estimation of the communications traffic associated with the `National Bank of Patient Doses' has been done for Castilla-La Mancha region. The influence of this new traffic has been evaluated in both the transmitters and in the final receptor `National Bank of patient doses'. The results obtained from this experience are going to be the extended to the other regions of Spain.
