Intelligent scanning method for UV-FAIMS detection

UV-FAIMS has evolved as a powerful technique for separation and identification of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) under ambient pressure. It is an important method to scan compensation voltages (CV) at different dispersion voltages (DV) to realize two-dimensional high resolution of FAIMS. Repeat full-spectrum CV scanning consumes a lot of time. In this paper, an intelligent scanning method is proposed to reduce the time of CV scanning by estimating the position of the peak under the adjacent DV condition. Based on spectral position recognition, intelligent partial scanning repeatedly without reducing the effective information of FAIMS spectrum. By employing intelligent scanning method, detection time is reduced to 1/15 of the original full-spectrum scan when the single-peak scan range is set to±2V. This work provides a potential way for quick detection in field detection.
