Analysis of dispersion error of higher-order curl-conforming prismatic finite element

Different element shapes are available when using a finite element method. The triangular prismatic element combines a simplex (triangle) shape with the tensor product structure typical of quadrilaterals and hexahedra and hence, presents some unique hybrid features. In this communication, analysis of the numerical dispersion properties of a higher-order curl-conforming prismatic, specifically second-order, finite element is presented. Comparison with results obtained with tetrahedral elements is included.
