Comparative analysis of CEI/IEC 60900 insulated tools and its hybrid equivalent, used in Live Working low voltage methods

Modern manufacturing and usage of advanced materials opened a possibility to a new approach in designing Live Working IEC/CEI 60900 hand tools, such us: ring spanners, socket wrenches, screwdrivers, pliers. According to CEI/IEC 60900 standard, there are two types of tools: insulated, made of conductive material fully or partially covered by insulating material and insulating, made totally or essentially from insulating material except for inserts made from conductive materials used for reinforcement, but with no exposed conductive parts. Also terminology standard IEC60743 in chapter 7 gives 9 appellation for insulating tools and 21 appellations for insulated one. In new version of CEI/IEC standard, tools made from insulating materials with exposed conductive parts at the working head will be a group of hybrid tools.
