The adaptive coherence estimator for detection in wind turbine clutter

In this paper we derive a bulk coherence statistic, composed of an incoherent geometric average of coherently computed adaptive coherence scores, to detect targets in wind turbine clutter. Experiments in clutter recorded from a pulse-Doppler radar produce results that compare favorably to a matched filter detector that does not adapt to estimated clutter covariance.
