Added value of local supervision in distributed inverter system

The reliability of an AC source in the telecommunication field has greatly increased thanks to the redundancy principle implemented in digitally controlled inverters running in a parallel system. To improve the safety of such a system, supervision architecture has to be elaborated around the inverter system. An inverter supervisor (IS) is presented. It can be integrated in a system in 2 different ways: either as a local main supervision unit for a simple system or as an interface mechanism in a more complex installation. The two approaches are discussed.
