The provision of power for wireless local loop systems in developing areas

Telkom SA two years ago embarked on a ambitious program to increase the penetration of telecommunications services in developing areas in South Africa. This paper discusses the problems encountered in providing cost effective power systems for these networks and the solutions adopted.
