A passive localization method of single satellite using TOA sequence

A passive localization method of single satellite depending on the time of arrival (TOA) of pulse signals is put forward in this paper. On the basis of TOA, the location of an emitter on earth can be estimated from the sequence with two times difference on TOA by grid searching in the case of pulse repetition interval (PRI) unknown. Likewise, the Cramer-Rao Lower Bound (CRLB) of localization performance and the Geometric Dilution of Precision (GDOP) are derived with the measurement error of TOA and the radial position error jointly taken into consideration. The simulations focus on analyzing the affects of cumulative time, TOA measurement error, pulse reputation frequency (PRF), indicating that the performance of proposed algorithm is close to the CRLB.
