Dynamic spectrum access in femtocell using LTE/LTE-unlicensed bands

It is predicted that mobile data traffic will grow quickly. Hence, the network should be developed to fulfill the huge data demand. To boost network capacity, cellular providers have been emptying the traffic of macrocell to femtocells in the licensed band and to Wifi hotspots which designed by themselves in the license-exempt bands. However, this lead to high interference between macrocll and femtocells, and the low efficiency when Wifi hotspots utilize the frequency band comparison with cellular networks. We propose the Dynamic Spectrum Access in Femtocell by creating a scheme employing a license-exempt band in this small cell which can achieve the access in licensed and license-exempt bands synchronously in cellular air interface, which namely Dual Band Femtocell by utilization the casement which can accumulate carriers in licensed and license-exempt bands based on Licensed-Assisted Access, also administration the relationship with the other license-exempt band users, by usage a listen-before-talk process. The goal is to increase the total throughput by improve the overall spectrum efficiency of the Dual Band Femtocell utilizer, and maintaining the interference between Dual Band Femtocell and Macrocell below a known thresholds. In our project we consider three different ways for cellular small cells to employ the licensed and license-exempt bands which are Wifi offloading, conventional femtocell and the proposed scheme. Simulation results illustrate that the throughput of utilization the Dynamic Spectrum Access in femtocell LTE/LTE-U bands is significantly outperforms comparison with the other two cases, also improvement the total throughput of the whole system (cellular and non cellular networks) when we utilized the proposed scheme.
