OpenAppID - application identification framework next generation of firewalls

Application Identification are important part of any Network Architecture. It provides more information about the activities carried out by network applications along with their bandwidth usage. Moreover specific applications can be restricted of using unnecessary network bandwidth. This paper focuses on the open source technology advancement in application identification.
