Investigations of possible using a generalized fuzzy interval for analyzing operating conditions of power equipment at hydropower plants

The paper presents the main principles of the intelligent decision support system for hydropower plants. The reason for using such system is the necessity of fast and objective decision making on unit commitment and loading. As a mathematical tool for investigations, the fuzzy set theory is used. Now, fuzzy set theory is increasingly applied in control systems. It is shown that object information can be represented by membership functions. In addition, using some principles of fuzzy set theory, approximate values of operating conditions of power equipment can be calculated. Algorithms for determination of these values for hydro units installed at the Novosibirsk hydropower plant are considered. Main conclusions on possible application of the generalized interval at analysis of operating conditions of power plant equipment are also presented.
