WebCAD: Generic approach to web-enabled execution of automated tasks of multiple CAD applications

This paper outlines the results of applying a generic approach to execute automated tasks of multiple CAD applications from web. The motivation for the study was the need to develop an easy-to-use and unified interface for engineering automation programs involving multiple CAD applications. A holistic and generic solution is achieved, so that all such tasks are brought under the ambit of web. The web-enabled workflow of CAD-based engineering activities and automatic generation of manufacturing drawings has been established using the approach.
