Satellite based bathymetry measurements in shallow water

Hydrographic organizations and affiliated institutes are developing satellite-derived bathymetry (SDB) technology. To apply SDB to the coastal waters of Japan, we have been developing SDB technology based on the method of Lyzenga, considering the characteristics of the Japanese environment. This paper presents a case study of SDB off Hateruma Island and demonstrates its possible practical use.
