High-resolution angle measurement based on the statistical method

Azimuth radar echo can be seen as the convolution of antenna pattern and target backscatter coefficient. Traditional methods of radar angle measurement use the deconvolution techniques with poor anti-noise performance. This paper firstly analyzes the causes of single channel deconvolution morbid. Then, based on the signal modeling and analysis process, a high-resolution angle measurement algorithm which combines the signal statistical model is proposed by taking the azimuth angle measurement as solving linear equations. The proposed method, which includes the targets' prior distribution information, is an improved signal modeling. Compared with the existing reconstruction approaches, it can achieve more robust inversion. Simulation results show the feasibility of the proposed method, especially its adaptability under low SNR.
